Nazir and Joelle's Wedding - June 13th, 2021

The minute I heard my first love story, I started looking for you, not knowing how blind that was. Lovers don't finally meet somewhere. They're in each other all along. I love you, not only for what you are, but for what I am when I am with you. I love you, not only for what you have made of yourself but for what you are making of me.

MAASRY- Joelle -

When you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible. I would rather share one lifetime with you than face all the ages of this world alone. You have made a place in my heart where I thought there was no room for anything else.

FIRST MEETING

Nazir and Joelle first met at the SABIS^® gym. Nazir or Naz as everyone calls him, entered dancing and shouting with his guy friends, pretty much like his usual self (loud and chaotic). He would put the music on maximum volume and sing and dance on each and every one of the songs although he never really knew their lyrics. Every time he steps foot in the gym is an event everyone at SABIS^® should know of! That particular day of early February 2017, he noticed a cute lady running some laps on the treadmill and his eyes sparkled! What better way to approach beautiful, shy Joelle and get to know her other than offering to help her out with her workout, he thought. He stepped closer, said hi, she greeted him back, and well, the rest is history.

FIRST DATE

Now that they have met several times at the gym and chatted all through their workouts, what was a sparkle has begun to turn into more of a crush. Nazir’s attempts to get Joelle to go out with him on a date were numerous but unlucky until one very key piece of information about Joelle was discovered. Nazir found out that she cannot resist a chocolate ice cream so he made her an offer she could not have refused. Joelle finally accepted Nazir’s invitation to a small date. He took her to Gelato for some ice cream. Their conversations were lively and the topics they jumped to, plenty! They just clicked!

PROPOSAL

18 August 2018, a date easy to remember thought Nazir so he called in his friends, the creatives (a crazy bunch basically), and the scheming began. They brainstormed, planned, and rehearsed for this:

Nazir told Joelle that they were going out with his friends to “Beit l Kroum” in Zahle, to spend the day there. In her turn Joelle invited her sister and her fiancé to tag along and spend the day with them. Naz’s friends decided to play a game which is what they normally do when they meet. The game was pretty simple. You randomly choose a piece of paper from a bowl and do whatever it says. Joseph started by picking out a random paper: 20 Push Ups it read or so he said. Sure enough Joseph was doing his push-ups when Eliane yelled Joelle’s name. Joelle however, was more sane than Nazir’s friends and never really liked to participate in games. But apart from being crazy, Nazir’s friends had another thing in common: persistence. They insisted so bad that Joelle participates, they were worried they had blown their cover. “What the hell” Joelle thought and finally proceeded to pick a paper. “Turn Around” was her order. She could hear her heartbeat going faster as she turned to see Naz on one knee holding “the ring”. Tears were dripping from her eyes as she hugged him.

Now that you are invited to the wedding, I suppose that you guys know what the answer was.

THE RING

The beautiful ring that Nazir got Joelle was the one she always wanted. He noticed her once scrolling through pictures of rings and saving a particular one. It was a ring she randomly came about on Facebook and instantly fell in love with. Naz being the ever so gallant gentleman, waited for her to step away from her phone for a minute and shot a picture of the ring she saved. Hence, the hunt for the perfect ring began. Nazir visited every jewelry shop there is to find the exact same one until he gave up and decided to custom-make it in the exact form his beloved is dreaming of.
